Summer Internship: Milliken & Company provides exceptional opportunities for experiential learning with our summer internship process. As an intern, you will be assigned to a significant project and will have direct responsibility for the success of the project. You will be considered a vital part of the location team and be expected to manage all aspects of your project and to report on the project's progress and results. Project assignments are linked to your academic major to ensure practical experience is gained in your academic field. In addition to significant project work, all interns attend a leadership forum training session at Corporate Headquarters. At the completion of the internship, all interns return to the Corporate Headquarters and present their project results to Senior Management and University Faculty.
Cooperative Education:The Milliken Cooperative Education Program is directed to students who are interested in modern manufacturing operations and who are majoring in: Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Textiles. Milliken Co-op Associates work in Product/Process Improvement, Engineering Services, and Industrial Engineering. The first co-op work assignment, late in the freshman year or in the sophomore year, will typically require application of basic sciences or pre-engineering course work. Projects become more complex and challenging with progress on the job and in school.

What training opportunities exist?
Milliken believes that education is a lifetime commitment on the part of our company and associates. At the heart of our education philosophy is Milliken University, a facility dedicated to continually improving associate education. Milliken demonstrates that associates are our greatest assets by devoting a great deal of time, energy, and assets to the continuous development of every associate.
All new associates attend training sessions in safety, quality, core processes and products and services. New management associates attend our Leadership Orientation Program (LOP), a three-week intensive orientation to Milliken & Company. In addition, each associate participates annually in job-specific training, based on individual and business needs.
