Phone Interview
Phone interviews are a little different than face-to-face interviews due to the lack of body language and facial expressions. A disembodied voice is some times difficult to read.
Helpful Tips
- A phone interview is every bit as serious as any other interview and should be treated that way.
- Make arrangements to be alone and in a quiet place during the interview. No TVs or barking dogs
- Avoid using speakerphone or a cell phone as the sound quality is often poor.
- Have available your resume, a list of points you may wish to make, and questions to ask the employer.
- Be positive, enthusiastic, and smile (it will transmit over phone lines)
